As a user, you want to keep your linen and washing machine hygiene as good as possible, but in fact people find there is full of bio-film or mold around the washing machine when they getting old. People want to make sure all the dirt and bacteria removed from their clothes after wash and find an efficient way to cut the energy consumption with same hygiene result. How can you cut down the energy consumption in wash cycle but improve the hygienic level of your laundry, and ensure that any washing machine germs are all removed by the end of the wash cycle? Ozonated water may be is your solution.
Lot of people question does laundry detergent kill germs in normal washing cycles? The answer, surprisingly is no. In fact, germs can spread from one item of clothing to another during the wash cycle. If someone in your house is ill, bacteria and viruses from their clothes can be transferred to yours. Washing the sick person’s clothes separately won’t help, either, because their germs will remain in the washing machine unless you disinfect it. If you wash a load of just underwear, there will be about 100 million E.coli in the wash water, and they can be transmitted to the next load of laundry. Let’s say someone in your home is suffering from diarrhea. Even if they wipe very well, some facal matter will likely make it onto their underwear. If you wash their under ware with other clothes, odds are high that the other clothing will be contaminated. Not even using the high temperature can prevent this from happening, since many germs are capable of surviving in hot water, although even more germs would survive a cold or lukewarm wash cycle.
Unfortunately, using hot water alone for laundry does not kill all germs and bacterial unless it is really hot, but hot water also be aware of the limitation such as woolly jumper at 80 degrees will make it shrink, and other fabrics can be melt. Washing clothing or linens of someone who is ill can spread the germs throughout the entire washer water you use hot or cold water. Nowadays, apply chlorine bleach with high temperature (over 60 degrees Celsius) is the most common way to killing germs in laundry. But chlorine bleach and detergents can actually cancel each other out and leave your clothes still look dull and stained. Mixing chlorine bleach with other chemical products can be toxic, mixing bleach with ammonia produces chloramine gas, bleach plus acidic products create chlorine gas, and bleach plus alcohol create chloroform.
What is ozonated water and how it works. Ozone is a triple oxygen (o3) molecule and is highly reactive on it own. As ozone breaks down, it releases a single oxygen atom, Molecular Oxygen and Diatomic Oxygen(o2). These single oxygen atoms instantly bond with the first thing they come to contact with. This mean they instantly neutralize stains, odors and biological contaminants. These free oxygen atoms also bond with Hydrogen ions provided by the form Hydroxyl Free Radicals. These will enhance some of the chemical performance such as oxygen oxide base solution. Our system create high purity ozone from water and patented dissolving device which dissolve high purity ozone into the water and fed washer direct. Our system can replenished ozone concentration between wash fills and stored for use in the next wash cycle. It is proven that 1ppm of dissolved ozone equals to 50ppm chlorine in terms of oxidation performance.
Benefits of apply ozone in laundry
Enhances chemical performance
Ozonated water enhances the power of detergents by breaking water surface tension and reducing the water hardening effects by calcium and magnesium. It can be let your laundry detergent go a lot farther.
Opens fiber and dried better
Ozonated water opens up the fibers and release stains. Ozonated water is also oxygen enriched water, study show ozonated water opens fiber as good as hot water. Opening up the fibers make the linens easier to dry and results boosts extract efficiency by lower water retention in the linen. Less water in the linens going to the dryers means it takes less time to dry them.
Outstanding disinfection performance
Ozone and its related companions are at the top of the list of most powerful oxidizers. Ozone blasts a hole in the cell wall or other containment mechanism of a pathogen and destroy it instantly. Ozone can assure eliminate biological pathogens and countless other chemical contaminants from finish product.
No Chemical residue (no skin irritations and extend fabrics life cycle)
Ozone strong oxidize nature will decompose the chemical residues in the finished product. These can reduce or eliminate the residual salts make up of crystals deposited in the fabric and their sharp edges accelerate the destruction of your fabrics life cycle during the drying process. As we all know ozone is a proven nature chemical to apply in organic linen laundry disinfection. Water remains PH neutral, less chemical residues mean reduction in the risk of skin irritation.
Reducing energy consumption
Another main purpose of apply ozone is reduce hot water in wash cycles when ozone is used. By adding dissolved ozone opens fiber, you will reduce most of your alkali and this means no need for acid because you maintain PH neutral, and these allow you to cut down your washing step and hot water usage.
Dissolved ozone removes odor
When ozone break down, it release a single oxygen atom and these single oxygen atoms instantly bond with the first thing they come to contact with and instantly neutralize odors and biological contaminants
Less water, less chemical and less cycle time
By reduce the residual and eliminating some of the steps in wash program, you can reduce the time required to complete the wash. Which mean it can accelerates your production by the same amount. This translates into a sizable water and labor saving. Ozone can be enhance some of the chemical by Hydrogen ions provided form Hydroxyl Free Radicals. By enhance and reduce some of the alkaline chemical, it can result to reduce the amount of softener in sour section.
Cold ozone wash improves linen life cycle
In laundry, a rinse simply serves to dilute the contaminants after you add lot of alkali and then acid to neutralize, but you never actually get everything out in the rinse. These residual salts are made up of crystals deposited in the fabric and their sharp edges accelerate the destruction of your fabrics when drying process. With Biotek ozone treatment, your PH stays near neutral and that’s exactly what your body and linens are, use less heat and colder water wash reduces linen damages.
Our system build in destruct gas unit which allow surplus ozone decompose back to pure oxygen and it let our system maintenance enable levels of ozone released into the air to be well below the periodic levels established by OSHA for work’s safety. Biotek series system using tap water as the only input for generate ozone and no by product, our system don’t need air dry, air compressor, oxygen concentration and mixing tank system during the process. Laundry environment is stuff with lint and moisture in the air. iEOG is completely air independent as tap water is the only input, our system wouldn’t be affect by air humidity and air quality.
Why ozonated water and not ozone gas
As we all know ozone is very effective at cleaning linens one dissolved ozone concentration reach upto at least 0.8ppm. Corona discharge technology disadvantage is purity of ozone gas is just only around 6% of the total gas volume. It is almost impossible to dissolve those amount of gas into the water by any nowadays technology in that short washing period. When Ozone gas inject to the drum, the first thing they contact is chemical and not linen or water, it may change some of the chemical structure and lower the chemical performance.
Why iEOG and not Corona Discharge
As we all know air is the source for Corona Discharge technology, certain amount of nitrogen oxide will be generate when the system generate ozone, and this is a kind of acids poison gas. These acids gas will change the PH during the wash cycle and it may cause another issue when nitrogen oxide contact alkaline base chemical. For all the gas that not been dissolved into the water in a small area, off gas issue is another concern issue as OSHA state clear area is not allow ozone off gas higher than 0.1ppm.
